Hello, Dallas

collinstbakeryThe wife and I have made it into Dallas for the upcoming Texas Frightmare Weekend. The trip wasn’t without its bumps, however, and I mean that quite literally. Somewhere outside Nashville, one of those awesome trucks that are the backbone of this country dropped a load of wood onto the highway. I’m not sure how many cars hit this wood, but considering it covered both lanes, I imagine quite a few. We ran over a railroad tie-sized piece at about 75 mph. Needless to say, we lost the front driver’s side tire. Thankfully, it didn’t blow, just went flat over the next 20 miles or so, which necessitated a pit stop in Madison, TN. Shout out to Mike at Firestone who took care of us, our car, and got us back on the road after we had lunch at Sir Pizza and Subs.

We stopped outside Little Rock, slept, and got back on the road this morning. We made a quick pit stop at the Collin Street Bakery, which the wife saw on some show famous for something or another. I just have to say… KILLER BISCUITS. Seriously, melted in my fucking mouth. Good eats.

Made it into Dallas in the early afternoon, hung out with our haunted toilet for a bit, and then we saw Kingsman, which we enjoyed. Our Garmin drove us in circles around Dallas, and that sucked, but that’s just Dallas. The wife put together the Blood Suckers for this weekend, and I still can’t beat a heroic boss in Hearthstone. Par the course.

Now we’re in the Hyatt Regency at the DFW Airport, just hanging out and waiting for the weekend. Why? Because:
